Centenary of Opportunity

Victoria University’s Centenary Exhibition, The Door of Opportunity 1916-2016, is a celebration of the founding of Footscray Technical School. It also marks the 25 years since the school changed it’s name and became Victoria University.

The Pod is very excited to be a part of this exhibition, showcasing a variety of work from media and art students from V.U. The exhibition required an interactive display that allows visitors to view and scroll through the library of student work, which mainly consists of short videos. The Pod designed and programmed the touch screen displays, which are housed in the new V.U at MetroWest, 138 Nicholson St, right in the heart of Footscray.

Defence of Darwin wins tourism award

The Pod is very pleased to have a project we worked very hard on throughout 2011-12 recognised and awarded a 2014 Traveller’s Choice Award by TripAdvisor. The Pod, working with Convergence Design, produced all of the multimedia for the WWII museum, including the 12-minute Bombing of Darwin cinematic experience.

As part of a Northern Territory government initiative promoting tourism to Darwin, the purpose-built complex at East Point in the city’s north has proven very popular with visitors, prompting it’s recognition as one of Darwin’s major attractions. For The Pod, the project remains a firm favourite. Being a part of such an historically significant installation cannot be taken lightly, and we are so proud to have been involved.

A very belated Merry Christmas! (2013)

The Pod is in production of its annual Christmas GIF, bringing a little bit of ‘GIF-mas’ cheer to all!

Take a look at last year’s, featuring completely hand-drawn elements. A bit of fun, this GIF was constructed in Adobe Flash, drawn frame by frame.

From Paddock to Plate

The Pod ventured out to the St Kilda Botanical Gardens on Monday to film a series of DIY videos for Louise FitzRoy’s educational ‘From Paddock to Plate’ project. The four videos, which we produced and edited, were shot on our Canon C100, and are aimed at school children, teaching them how they can reduce their waste and grow their own veggie patch. We couldn’t be happier to have been involved in such a positive and community-focused project, especially considering the current political debate surrounding climate and environmental issues. Plus we managed to learn a thing or two about growing our very own worm farm!
