Flashback Friday

The Pod has gone all sappy this week, taking a nostalgic look back at some old projects we completed back in the 80’s. Most of the current crop at The Pod were just babies during the Ford’s Expo 88 Pavilion, where this film was the main exhibit.

‘Your Key To The Future’ depicts every car manufactured and sold in Australia by Ford since the first Model T was introduced to Australia back in 1914. The film was played for, pretty much, six months straight.

The brainchild of Reel Pictures’ Alf Kuhlmann, The Pod’s tried and trusted 3D animation extraordinaire, this is a great little Friday flashback, showing just how much things have changed since those halcyon days. Very 80’s! Rock on, cowboy!

Happy New Year

After a few weeks off for the Christmas break, The Pod is back in business for 2015! After a magnificent Christmas lunch, catching up with colleagues and celebrating the year gone by, we are now back in the office, ready for the new year and all it has to offer. We have marked the beginning of the new business year with the launch of our new website, as well as our brand new logo.

With a number of major projects, including Courage to Care, The Parkes Visitor Centre, Victoria University, Kubota, The Wool Museum and Equipsuper, already demanding our attention, it seems 2015 is already presenting us with some fresh challenges. Details on these projects will become available in future posts. For now, we wish you all the best for 2015 and look forward to working with you.

New Pod Website Now Open

Over the last couple of months we have been busy developing a new way to experience The Pod online. We have designed and constructed a website that caters to the multitude of devices that can access the internet today. By developing a responsive architecture the website displays uniformity from the smallest mobile device to the biggest desktop screen size.

To drive traffic to our website, we decided to use our all time favourite – the gif. The pod loves to mix old technology with new technology and we love to make gifs. They are simple, effective and eye- catching in any inbox.

Centenary of Opportunity

Victoria University’s Centenary Exhibition, The Door of Opportunity 1916-2016, is a celebration of the founding of Footscray Technical School. It also marks the 25 years since the school changed it’s name and became Victoria University.

The Pod is very excited to be a part of this exhibition, showcasing a variety of work from media and art students from V.U. The exhibition required an interactive display that allows visitors to view and scroll through the library of student work, which mainly consists of short videos. The Pod designed and programmed the touch screen displays, which are housed in the new VU at MetroWest, 138 Nicholson St, right in the heart of Footscray.
