Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum

Revamped and reinvigorated, the $3M redevelopment of Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum will provide visitors with a unforgettable experience of what life was like in colonial Warrnambool. Completed in June 2017, the 18-month project was produced and installed by a consortium of contractors under the creative direction of Acumen Design.

Our focus was to produce two new sound and light shows and revitalise the open air museum and period buildings using the magic of contemporary digital technologies and displays which bring to life the fascinating history of Warrnambool and the Shipwreck Coast.

WWI Life in the trenches

In mid 2015 The Pod was approached to produce a reimagining of trench warfare during WW1. Drawing inspiration from Will Dyson's WW1 collection of sketches of his own experiences in the trenches, The Pod sought to bring to life what was a tumultuous episode in Australia's history.

The Melbourne Cup Experience

This immersive experience was developed for the National Museum of Australia. They wanted the visitor to experience what it would be like to be a jockey and race in the Melbourne Cup. It had to be transportable and maintenance free. The solution? Envelop our audience with LED screens alongside a multi sensory soundtrack and simulate movement by placing an industrial vibrator under a movable floor - all wrapped up in a horse-float.

2016 Kubota Dealer Conference

Another year, another successful dealer conference for Kubota Tractor Australia. The Pod’s team of talented and creative directors, videographers, graphic designers, writers, photographers and staging crew worked tirelessly to ensure another unforgettable audiovisual experience for Kubota's dealer group.
The exhibition space of more than 4500 square metres was adorned with all manner of Kubota products and displays, a sea of orange for the dealers to explore between the raft of presentations and new products.

ICE development

The Pod and d3technologies in London developed new concepts for the National Museum of Australia for their new Immersive Contextual Experience, or ICE. This video formed part of our proposal to illustrate how we would use multiple projector mapping to create large seamless images in their new space.
